2021 Outlook for the Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans start their season in September when they face off with the Arizona Cardinals in a home game. Hopes are high for the Tennessee Titans as they come off of back-to-back impressive seasons where they made the playoffs.

A recap of the 2020 season

Following an impressive AFC Conference Championship appearance in 2019, the Tennessee Titans once again made the playoffs in 2020, falling short to the Baltimore Ravens 20-13 in the AFC Wild Card Round. They posted an impressive 11-5 regular season record. Their team was lead by Pro Bowl running back Derrick Henry, who rushed for an impressive 2,027 yards and 17 touchdowns.

About the 2021 Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans return the majority of their core players along with their head coach, so the expectations are high for the 2021 Tennessee Titans. They play in the AFC South division along with the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Indianapolis Colts. The Titans are hopeful for an improved defense to compliment their impressive offensive firepower.

Players to Watch

The Titans feature one of the most explosive offenses in the league, led by quarterback Ryan Tannnehill, running back Derrick Henry, and wide receiver A.J. Brown. The Titans have also added long-time Atlanta Falcon and seven time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones. They also have an impressive offensive line that is led by Taylor Lewan (Left Tackle) and Rodger Saffold III (Left Guard).

On the defensive side of the ball, the Titans top players include Jeffery Simmons (Defensive End), Rashaan Evans (Middle Linebacker), and Amani Hooker (Strong Safety). Rookies that could have an impact for the Titans in 2021 include first round pick Caleb Farley (Cornerback) and second round pick Dillon Radunz (Offensive Tackle).

What to Expect

NFL seasons are unpredictable as game scores are usually close and a few good or bad breaks can drastically alter a team’s overall record. There is also always a risk of injuries to key players that could change the outlook of a team. With that said, the Tennessee Titans are more optimistic than they have been in recent memory for this season. They have a veteran group of players and are coming off of two consecutive impressive seasons where they made the playoffs. The expectation is no different this season, and if the Titans can live up to the level of talent they have on their roster, they are poised for another playoff finish with the hopes of advancing to the Super Bowl.

How to Watch

The Tennessee Titans play every Sunday through the first week of January, except for their “Bye Week” on December 5th, a Monday night game on October 8th, and a Thursday night game on December 23rd. The Titans have a total of nine regular season home games and eight road games. The Titans did not have fans for the 2020 season due to the pandemic, but tickets are once again available for the Titans’ home games at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
